Description
Are you an experienced federal tax professional who enjoys solving complex tax issues across jurisdictions and countries? Are you interested in accounting for income taxes, tax advisory, tax controversy, and tax planning? Do you want to help large global and dynamic midsize companies across industries address complex tax compliance and consulting needs? Work You'll Do
As a Tax Senior Consultant within Deloitte's Business Tax Services group, you will support federal tax compliance, planning, controversy, research, and consulting engagements for public and private companies across industries. You will review partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns and related workpapers; coordinate with client tax and finance teams on compliance and planning data; and review income tax provisions prepared under ASC 740. You will also research federal tax legislation, contribute to projects involving tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes, assist with engagement workflow management, and supervise Tax Consultants and interns on assigned engagements. ASC 740 governs the accounting for income taxes and related tax effects in financial reporting.

The Team
Deloitte Tax LLP's Business Tax Services team helps public and private companies integrate tax strategy into their business operations while considering their objectives and risk profiles. Our professionals combine technical tax expertise, industry knowledge, technology, and specialized resources to help clients address global tax challenges, improve tax-function efficiency, and make informed decisions. The practice provides a broad range of services, including tax planning and compliance, tax controversy and risk management, research and development and government incentives, and tax management consulting. As part of the team, you will collaborate with subject-matter experts and industry specialists to help clients navigate complex tax requirements and strengthen the impact of their tax functions. Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3+ years' experience in federal taxation
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Preparation and review experience of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Excellent presentation and communications skills
