This leadership role will be based in our New York Office and will report directly to the EVP, Head of Property.brbr/span/pp style=margin:1.5pt 0.0inspan style=This is a critical leadership position responsible for shaping and driving the success of Zurich's Property portfolio across the East Region. The successful candidate will combine deep technical underwriting expertise with strong people leadership and a market-facing mindset. You will play a key role in advancing our underwriting strategy, strengthening broker and client relationships, and developing top underwriting talent to deliver profitable growth.brbr/span/pp style=margin:1.5pt 0.0inspan style=Responsibilities Include:/span/pulli style=span style=Lead and execute the regional Property underwriting strategy, aligning with Zurich's broader business and financial objectives./span/lili style=span style=Establish key performance metrics, underwriting standards, and financial targets to optimize portfolio performance and profitability./span/lili style=span style=Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Underwriting Managers and Underwriters, with a strong focus on talent development, succession planning, and technical excellence./span/lili style=span style=Drive underwriting discipline through the development and oversight of policies, processes, and governance frameworks aligned with strategic goals./span/lili style=span style=Act as a senior market-facing leader, cultivating and deepening relationships with key brokers, agents, and clients across the region./span/lili style=span style=Partner closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, service enhancements, and sustainable growth./span/lili style=span style=Participate in regional and national leadership forums, contributing specialty expertise to business planning, change initiatives, and strategic priorities./span/lili style=span style=Represent the East Region within global and regional underwriting communities, sharing best practices and contributing to proposition development./span/lili style=span style=Oversee underwriting authority, including direct involvement in underwriting and analyzing new and renewal business within delegated authority levels./span/lili style=span style=Review agency books of business, loss performance, and growth trends; recommend and implement action plans to improve results./span/lili style=span style=Support Zurich's sales culture by serving as a trusted advisor to distribution partners and customers./span/lili style=span style=Ensure adherence to underwriting philosophy, regulatory requirements, and Zurich standards./span/li/ulp style=margin:1.5pt 0.0inspan style=brBasic Qualifications:/span/pulli style=span style=Bachelor's Degree and 12 or more years of experience in underwriting, market-facing, brokerage, carrier, or risk management roles within the Commercial Insurance industrybrAND/span/lili style=span style=5+ years of leadership or people management experience/span/lili style=span style=Commercial Property underwriting experience/span/li/ulp style=margin:1.5pt 0.0inspan style=brPreferred Qualifications:/span/pulli style=span style=Advanced technical expertise across Property lines of business/span/lili style=span style=Experience with Pamp;L ownership, portfolio management, and strategic planning/span/lili style=span style=Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams/span/lili style=span style=Established broker and distribution relationships within the East Region/span/lili style=span style=Strong executive presence with the ability to engage effectivelywith senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders/span/lili style=span style=Expertise in risk selection, portfolio complexity, loss trends, underwriting analytics, and ratemaking/span/lili style=span style=In-depth knowledge of underwriting philosophy, guidelines, and national and local filing/regulatory requirements/span/lili style=span style=Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and organizational skills/span/li/ulp style=margin:1.5pt 0.0in /pp style=margin:1.5pt 0.0inspan style=At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited tothe specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
