Description
We are seeking an On-Site Registered Nurse with a passion for providing above and beyond health care and to be dedicated to a large manufacturing client with 400+ employees at a Valley, NE employer site and 1,500+ employees near-by. Location: Valmont Industries - 28800 Ida St. Valley, NE 68064
Clinic Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as an employee advocate, going above and beyond to provide expert, proactive, and comprehensive patient facing services such as:
- Assess, screen, triage and perform treatment ordered for patients
- Biometric screenings
- Blood pressure screenings
- Well-being (weight, nutrition, movement, and stress management, etc) and chronic condition management coaching
- Patient education includes anticipatory guidance, information about chronic care, disease prevention and the promotion of health maintenance
- Care navigation to community and employer benefit programs
- Recommendation for care - right care, right cost, right time
- Administer immunizations including but not limited to influenza, Tdap, etc
- First aid
- Facilitate well-being group classes and seminars/lunch and learns
- Occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, etc
- Blood draw for genetic testing via employer benefits program
- Front office responsibilities include but are not limited to appointment schedule management, patient registration, appointment check-in and out, answer patient phone calls, emails, and/or patient portal messages
- On-site Well-being Champion for the employee population:
- Contagious positive attitude that inspires others and models health and wellness
- Visible resource - actively participating in worksite events and part of worksite fabric
- Resource for healthy culture/environment in collaboration with onsite subject matter experts
- Establishes report and trust with employees and leadership
- Coordinates well-being related communications and marketing at the site (posters, desk drops, etc.)
- Facilitates clinic overview at new hire trainings
- Ability to work independently as the sole clinical staff member of an employer clinic
- Solid commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare
- Proper, concise, and complete EMR documentation and/or paper-based documentation for all assessments and procedures
- Other duties as assigned such as new models of care and new types of procedures, etc.
- Use best practices in telepresence skills to create a positive patient-clinician rapport and a meaningful encounter through technology
- Accommodate the patient's needs, preferences, and potential cultural, social, physical, cognitive, and linguistic and communication barriers to technology use
- Comply with standing order processes including but not limited to medication administration
- Apply critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems
- Comply with OSHA and HIPAA requirements, and follow policies and procedures as outlined by Optum. Perform duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the applicable State Board of Nursing and other such regulating bodies
- Learning, ongoing education, and licensure:
- RN licensure in NE and obtain in additional states as needed
- Maintain clinical skills and competency for all procedures
- Completes clinical competency evaluation/review as determined by leadership
- Maintain technical skills and apply new knowledge to position according to clinic policy
- Maintain knowledge of Medical Terminology and standards of nursing care
- Maintain knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Read and keep up to date on all department communications
- Complete all assigned training
- Documentation of competency is required for all role appropriate procedures, in addition to State specific licensure or certification as applicable

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current state licensure
- Maintain CME/CEU's as applicable for licensure
- Active CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days or hire
- 2+ years of dedicated nursing experience
- Experience with venous access for medication administration, as well as venipuncture and lab specimen collections
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in urgent care, emergency room or critical care setting
- Experience with IV insertion
- Experience with employer health services and/occupational medicine
- Working knowledge of computerized information systems (EMR) used in clinical management settings
Physical Requirement:
- Ability to stand and sit for hours at a time (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $29 - $52 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
