Nebraska Public Media is building a new daily talk show designed to inform, engage, and connect Nebraskans through timely conversations on news, public affairs, culture, education, health, and issues affecting communities across the state. This show will be produced for both radio and digital platforms, with a focus on strong storytelling, thoughtful interviews, audience engagement, and content that reflects the interests and needs of Nebraska audiences.
To support this new initiative, Nebraska Public Media is hiring a team of content professionals who will help shape, produce, host, report, and distribute daily talk show content. Each position will play a key role in launching and sustaining the program, while working collaboratively across radio, news, digital, and production teams.
The Radio Talk Show Reporter/Producer will focus directly on creating, producing, writing, and editing multimedia content for the daily talk show. This position will produce segments and interviews, research and book guests, help track daily and long-term content plans, support digital distribution, analyze audience impact, and serve as a fill-in host when needed.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field and one (1) year of news reporting and/or experience in the production of news/public affairs programming.
Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis.
Experience originating, developing, writing, and producing content.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years’ experience news reporting and/or experience in the production of news/public affairs programming; equivalency considered.
On-air hosting experience. Reporting and producing experience.
Knowledge of talk show production.
Experience with standard broadcast equipment.
Experience with digital audio editing software.
Experience with digital editing and radio production.
Familiarity with podcasting and digital platforms helpful.
