Position Summary
The Philanthropy & Partnerships Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that grow philanthropic support and build meaningful partnerships to advance the organization's mission. This role cultivates relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, community organizations, and other stakeholders while identifying new opportunities for funding, collaboration, and community impact.
The ideal candidate is a relationship builder, strategic thinker, and effective communicator who is passionate about creating sustainable partnerships that expand the organization's reach and financial resources.
Key Responsibilities
Philanthropy & Fundraising
-Develop and execute annual fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals.
-Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors.Build and maintain a portfolio of prospective and existing donors.
-Collaborate on grant opportunities by identifying prospects and supporting proposal development.
-Coordinate donor recognition and stewardship activities to strengthen long-term relationships.
-Track fundraising goals, donor engagement, and campaign outcomes.
Strategic Partnerships
-Identify and cultivate partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations.
-Develop sponsorship opportunities and corporate giving initiatives.
-Negotiate and maintain partnership agreements that align with the organization's mission.
-Represent the organization at networking events, community meetings, and partnership opportunities.
-Foster collaborative relationships increase visibility and community impact.
Relationship Management
-Serve as a primary point of contact for key donors and partners.
-Develop customized engagement strategies for major supporters.
-Maintain accurate donor and partner records within the organization's CRM.
-Prepare reports, presentations, and impact updates for stakeholders.
Strategy & Planning
-Analyze fundraising and partnership data to identify trends and opportunities.
-Establish annual goals and performance metrics.
-Work collaboratively with leadership, board members, and program staff to align development efforts with organizational priorities.
-Assist with planning fundraising events and donor engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
-Three or more years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, partnership development, business development, or nonprofit advancement.
-Demonstrated success in cultivating donors, sponsors, or strategic partnerships.
-Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
-Strong organizational and project management abilities.
-Experience using donor management or CRM software.
-Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
-Eperience securing corporate sponsorships or major gifts.
-Grant research or grant writing experience.
-Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising is the best practice.
-Experience working with nonprofit boards and community leaders.
