Essential Duties:
We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented Operation Technology Systems/Network Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining operational technology systems that support our utility infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure seamless system performance, enhance operational efficiency, and support the safe delivery of our development projects.
The Operation Technology Systems/Network Administrator is responsible for strategic oversight, technical management, and continuous enhancement of all OT systems within a utility organization.
Serving as a crucial link between operational personnel, IT teams, cybersecurity experts, and executive management, this position ensures that utility systems operate seamlessly, securely, and at optimal efficiency of industrial control systems (ICS) used to operate utility infrastructure. This includes SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, historians, field networks, and related communications.
The role serves as the bridge between Contractors, Operations, IT, Land Development and Cybersecurity, ensuring safe and compliant utility operations.
This position is responsible for performing computer network defense assessments, including threat intelligence, Risk identification,troubleshooting and security operations ( Extensive knowledge of industrial control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs, RTUs); systems include but are not limited to, transmitters, recorders, PID loop controllers, atmosphere testers, ultrasonic meters, network servers, related communication devices.
Proficiency with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
Requirements
Knowledge of safe work practices, applicable codes, laws and ordinances, circuit diagrams, and shop mathematics.
Continuously assess the cybersecurity posture of assigned sites by verifying scans, reviewing policies and procedures, and making recommendations for improvement.
Provide remediation recommendations to address vulnerabilities.
Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry best practices in computer network defense. Assess their potential impact on the organization and make recommendations for proactive measures.
Have a working knowledge of water and/or wastewater treatment plant operations
Possession of depth knowledge of electrical/electronic/instrumentation equipment as it relates to personal computers, SCADA systems, industrial controls, communication devices, telemetry, and their operational and maintenance software programs; methods, tools, and equipment used to maintain, repair, test, troubleshoot, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on an electrical, electronic, instrumentation and SCADA systems
Desired experience or certifications with Cyola, Dark Trace and other water sector cybersecurity standards
Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
(or equivalent utility/industrial experience)
7–10 years’ experience with OT/ICS systems in utilities or industrial environments
One year of completed college or technical institute coursework in a closely related field can be substituted for three (3) years of experience, three (3) years of related experience can substitute for college or technical institute coursework
PMP (a plus)
Experience supporting mission-critical 24/7 systems
