| Job Summary | This position begins August 13, 2026. Desk Clerks serve an important role in supporting the safety, security, and daily operations of residence halls within the Office of Residence Life at the University of Kentucky. Students in this position provide overnight front desk coverage in residential communities and serve as a visible presence within the building during late-night hours. Typical shifts occur overnight, including 12:00 AM 4:00 AM and 4:00 AM 8:00 AM. Employees should be prepared to work a minimum of 12 overnight hours per week. Desk Clerks are responsible for monitoring access to the residence hall, responding appropriately to safety and security concerns, assisting residents and guests, and helping maintain a welcoming and secure community environment. This position requires professionalism, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain attentive during overnight shifts. Essential Responsibilities

| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | This position requires the ability to communicate departmental and university policies clearly and professionally to residents and visitors. Desk Clerks must be comfortable addressing policy concerns, documenting incidents accurately, and communicating important information to professional and student staff members. Successful candidates typically demonstrate the following qualities and skills:
