Job Summary/Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented News Producer to join our newsroom. This role is responsible for creating and organizing engaging newscasts, coordinating story coverage, and working closely with anchors, reporters, and newsroom staff to deliver accurate, timely, and compelling content to our audience.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Produce daily newscasts from start to finish
- Write and edit news stories, teases, and other broadcast content
- Coordinate with reporters, anchors, photographers, and assignment desk staff
- Prioritize stories based on news value, urgency, and audience interest
- Ensure all content is accurate, clear, and meets editorial standards
- Build rundowns and make changes as breaking news develops
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Solid news judgment and understanding of broadcast journalism standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
