Description
The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum is FIU’s premier on-campus museum and one of the largest academic art museums in South Florida. Since opening in 2008, the museum has provided free access to art spanning cultures and time periods while serving FIU students, faculty, families, schools, and the greater Miami community through exhibitions, collections, internships, and educational programming. Located on Florida International University’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus, the Frost Art Museum is an official Smithsonian Affiliate.
Job Summary
Responsible for all aspects of membership cultivation and retention by increasing awareness of the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in the community, converting visitors into members, thinking creatively about membership benefits and events, and providing excellent customer service to members. Provides oversight and responsibility for all membership activities and develops strategies to identify and solicit new prospects.
Implements strategies for stewardship, renewal, upgrading, acquisition, visitor conversion, and increased annual fund giving from members. Evaluates membership services, benefits, and policies and recommends improvements to strengthen retention and acquisition.
Works with the Finance Manager to prepare and monitor membership revenue and expense budgets.
Directs the work of volunteers and student assistants as assigned.
Serves as a merchant account user and handles sensitive cardholder information, credit card transactions, and cash transactions in accordance with applicable procedures.
Serves as the primary representative of the Membership program on a daily basis and at membership events, exhibition openings, museum programs, and members-only events.
Develops and directs integrated mail, online, and telephone campaigns to acquire, upgrade, and renew members and donors. Maintains schedules for solicitations and cultivation activities, including timely delivery of strategy, creative, and data files.
Oversees and implements the annual Benefactor Impact membership event.
Generates reports for the Director of Operations and Finance Manager to measure membership campaign results, retention, growth, and progress toward revenue goals.
Develops, promotes, and documents best practices and policies associated with member, donor, and prospect management. Maintains the security, accuracy, and integrity of membership data.
Maintains accurate donor and member records and oversees membership fulfillment, including acknowledgements and member cards.
Partners with Marketing & Communications and Visitor Services to implement promotions, partnerships, and communications that strengthen the membership experience and enhance visitor conversion. Supports membership collateral, social media, website content, and e-communications.
Oversees the museum’s point-of-sale, merchandise, and membership management system, including the coordination, entry, and maintenance of information related to memberships, events, programs, merchandise, inventory, and retail operations. Ensures system records are accurate and current, supports departmental use of the platform, and assists with reporting and operational needs associated with membership, programming, and sales activities.
Collaborates with the Development Officer to identify opportunities to upgrade members to higher levels of membership and annual giving.
Exercises mature judgment, discretion, and professionalism in researching and communicating information and works effectively in a data-driven environment.
