WSET ABC 13 is looking for an Multimedia Journalist (MMJ). Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television.

WSET ABC 13 is located in beautiful Lynchburg, Virginia. The area offers a thriving downtown and lots of nearby outdoor opportunities (Boating at Smith Mountain Lake, Skiing at Wintergreen, and hiking at the Peaks of Otter to name a few). We are also just a few hours away from Virginia Beach, Washington DC, Richmond and Raleigh.

Skills and Experience:

• Sharp news judgment
• Strong writer
• Charismatic personality
• Excellent technical skills
• The ability to multitask and work independently
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record
• Prior experience with iNews and Avid editing software is helpful.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 years reporting experience is preferred. We will also accept internships at commercial television stations.
• Experience with live shots is required
• Experience with Live-U is a plus
