- Membership Engagement Specialist
Description
MassBio is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Membership Engagement Specialist to support the growth, retention, and overall experience of our member community. This role is central to fostering strong connections with member organizations, enhancing engagement, and delivering value throughout the member lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to ongoing relationship management.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, personable, and proactive, with a passion for building meaningful relationships and supporting a mission-driven organization in the life sciences ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Member Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with member organizations, serving as a primary point of contact
Develop rapport with key stakeholders across member companies to understand their needs and goals
Proactively engage members to increase participation in MassBio programs, events, and initiatives
Track and monitor member engagement and identify opportunities to deepen involvement
Member Onboarding & Experience
Lead onboarding for new members, ensuring a smooth and welcoming introduction to MassBio
Educate members on available benefits, resources, and opportunities for engagement
Maintain accurate membership records and ensure timely follow-ups
Membership Recruitment & Growth
Support membership recruitment efforts by identifying and engaging prospective member organizations
Assist in outreach campaigns and follow-up with leads
Collaborate with internal teams to communicate the value of MassBio membership
Dues & Administrative Support
Assist with membership dues collection, including invoicing support and follow-up communications
Maintain organized records of membership status and payment tracking
Support reporting on membership metrics and trends
Events & Programming
Plan and host member engagement activities such as lunch-and-learns, networking events, and informational sessions
Coordinate logistics, speaker engagement, and member communications for events
Represent MassBio at events and facilitate meaningful connections among attendees
Content & Materials Development
Create and update membership materials, including onboarding guides, presentations, and promotional collateral
Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging
Contribute to newsletters, email campaigns, and other member communications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2–4+ years of experience in membership, customer success, account management, or related field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience coordinating events or programs is a plus
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace

Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $70,000- $80,000 per year. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, training,and market. Benefits include, employer-sponsored 401k, and competitive healthcare plans.
