Description
El Conquistador Golf Club in Oro Valley, AZ, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Membership Director to lead all aspects of membership sales, club marketing, and engagement. This role is responsible for driving membership growth, enhancing member satisfaction, and ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all members. The ideal candidate thrives in a hospitality environment, is highly organized, and is passionate about delivering exceptional service.Compensation: $70,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities
Responsibilities:
Membership Sales & Strategy:
- Design and execute a strategic membership development program to increase total membership and dues revenue.
- Conduct all marketing and sales efforts related to membership, including prospecting, tours, and closing sales.
- Oversee membership application processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of prospective members through outreach and relationship building.
Marketing & Communications:
- Plan and implement advertising, promotional campaigns, and outreach initiatives to generate membership leads as well as property-wide events and information.
- Serve as the primary owner of membership marketing materials, including digital and print collateral.
- Manage the club's membership website content and social media platforms in alignment with brand standards.
- Create and distribute monthly member newsletters in collaboration with department leaders.
- Capture and manage photos, videos, and content from club events and activities.
- Build email campaigns and marketing communications using content management systems.
Member Experience & Engagement:
- Cultivate strong relationships with current members to promote engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Coordinate new member onboarding and orientation programs.
- Assist in planning and promoting club events, including invitations, communications, and publicity.
- Act as a key liaison for members, management, board members, and committees regarding club events and communications.
Operations & Administration:
- Establish and maintain accurate membership account information, including billing, records, databases, and contact management systems.
- Prepare membership reports for leadership and ownership as needed.
- Ensure proper file systems and adherence to accounting procedures.
- Step in for the General Manager when appropriate.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Serve as the leader of the membership function, taking full ownership of membership strategy, performance, and execution.
- Collaborate closely with department heads (golf, food & beverage, events, and operations) to align membership initiatives with overall club goals.
- Act as a key internal partner to ensure consistent communication, exceptional member experiences, and successful club programming.
- Provide guidance and support to team members across departments involved in member touchpoints, onboarding, and events.
- Promote a culture of service excellence throughout the organization.
- Communicate membership goals, performance insights, and engagement strategies to leadership and staff.
Community & Networking:
- Build relationships with local organizations and partners such as Chambers of Commerce, realtors, tourism groups, and business leaders.
- Represent the club within the local community to enhance visibility and attract new members.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent; or 2+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in hospitality, golf club, or membership-based environments preferred.
- Strong marketing, sales, and customer service background.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, EZ Links, and content management systems preferred.
- Ability to create email campaigns, digital content, and basic video/media assets.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative, proactive, and service-driven mindset.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use hands.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, or kneeling.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Moderate noise level.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential.

- Communication Skills - Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Technical Proficiency - Comfortable with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and content management systems (experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, and club software like EZ Suites preferred).
- Content Creation - Ability to develop engaging written, visual, and basic video content.
- Analytical Skills - Capable of interpreting data, preparing reports, and using insights to guide decisions.
- Adaptability & Problem Solving - Flexible and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Professionalism & Discretion - Ability to handle sensitive member information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Community Engagement & Networking - Comfortable representing the club externally and building local partnerships.
- Interest in and experience playing golf would be preferred.
