Description
OverviewOversees and maintains all facets of the golf operation at Eagle Landing. Provides professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to all golf associates. Promotes and nurtures member and guest relations to enhance the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.
Experience Required
- Minimum of three years as 1st Assistant Golf Professional or Head Golf Professional
- Minimum of two years directly responsible for tournament operations and setup
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or three to five years related experience in golf operations management
- PGA / LPGA Active Membership
- Experience with EzLinks Tee Time Software and Jonas Club Management Software preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with computerized POS and tee time system
- Regularly stands, walks and sits; occasionally climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; frequently uses hands and arms; frequently talks or hears; occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
Essential Responsibilities
- Create a customer service oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of members and guests
- Oversee daily golf operations including check-in procedures, tee sheet management, tournament organization and execution, rules, practice facility operations, player service operations, golf cart fleet, and player improvement and instruction programs and camps
- Manage EZLinks Tee Times software and utilize Jonas club software as needed
- Work with the General Manager to create a competitive daily rate matrix and recommend seasonal and annual cost adjustments
- Coordinate daily with the Superintendent and Food and Beverage Manager to ensure timely communication and a strong working relationship
- Monitor business volume forecasts and plan staffing, productivity, costs, and expenses accordingly
- Maintain a safe work environment and uphold Troon standards for all golf operations areas
- Maintain and manage a quality golf cart fleet, follow PM program, and communicate repair needs promptly
- Create a monthly letter to membership and residents regarding upcoming golf operations
- Manage communications for the club's Golf Committee and provide detailed notes for quarterly meetings
- Lead tournament operations using Golf Genius software and mentor assistants and team members in tournament management
- Serve as club representative for tournament sales, inquiries, and contract management
- Plan, organize, and execute member and outside tournaments, interclub events, and weekly leagues
- Manage the club's GHIN program and coordinate with the handicap committee
- Build strong member relationships through communication, engagement, programming, and regular interaction on the golf course
- Work with Marketing, Communications, and the General Manager to support membership sales goals
- Manage membership setup, renewals, separations, and conduct bi-annual audits of membership categories in Jonas club software
- Manage player development programs including clinics, junior camps, on-course instruction, and group instruction
- Establish new instructional initiatives such as PGA Jr. League, First Tee of North Florida, PGA HOPE, or similar programs
- Provide individual and group golf lessons to members and the public
- Manage approved golf instructors and their contractual requirements
- Guide assistant golf professionals and camp coaches in lesson planning and activities
- Oversee the merchandise program including purchasing, receiving, inventory, and pro shop presentation
- Manage monthly inventory, demo days, and a golf club grip replacement program
- Support annual budget development and golf operation goals while helping control expenses relative to revenues
- Prepare work schedules, perform payroll tasks, monitor hours, and maximize productivity
- Lead, hire, train, assign, evaluate, reward, and discipline golf operations staff
- Manage departmental staff including assistant and associate golf professionals, teaching professionals, player assistants, rangers, starters, and guest services attendants
- Ensure effective orientation and training for new associates
