Overview

At The Huntington Club, we hire candidates who possess a team attitude, are self-motivated, and have a passion for the game of golf. This position works alongside the Director of Golf to deliver an exceptional golf experience for the members of THC. The successful candidate will be involved in every aspect of the day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for an individual eager to grow within a strong working team. 

 

Experience Required

• PGA Membership or Active Level 3 PGA Apprentice in good standing is required.
• At least 4 years experience in a private club setting highly preferred
• Minimum of 4 years experience at a recognized green grass facility.
• Understanding elements of successful golf operations, proactively serving members and guests, while providing exceptional member experiences
• College degree preferred

Essential Responsibilities

Duties to include:

• Execute golf shop operations including running the 1 st tee, tee sheet management, pace of play, merchandise sales, proper charging in POS system and accuracy of charges.
• • Perform daily starting and player assistant duties as needed and in conjunction with other scheduled golf shop personnel as needed.
  • Ensure golf shop personnel make course marshalling tours of golf course to manage proper pace of play and course services.
  • Monitor supply levels for all daily golf operations. Create orders following the budget for all supplies.
  • Administers and enforce all rules and regulations, policies and procedures as required by the company related to applicable staff positions.
• The Head Golf Professional is responsible for continually developing and implementing all service standards by assisting the Director of Golf Professional with the hiring, training & management of outside service staff.
• Makes schedules for outside service staff to ensure that members and guests are fully serviced and that labor costs are maintained.
• Ensure all schedules are inputted weekly and that all team members are adhering to CA law by clocking in/out for mandated lunch periods.
• Ensure bag room is maintained in an orderly fashion and that member bags are staged properly, and all clubs are cleaned to established standards.
• • Ensure the practice facilities are always up to standards and ready for member/guest usage as needed.
  • Ensures the golf car fleet is maintained according to standards and properly operated by staff.
• Assist Director of Golf in planning and execution of all Monday tournament operations.
• Confirm proper staff scheduling for every Monday event.
• Assist the Director of Golf in the planning and execution of all couple's & ladies events.
• Assists the Director of Golf with planning, promoting, and directing all golf activities.
• Assist Director of Golf in planning and execution of all member golf events including all Golf Genius activity.
• Assist Director of Golf with Merchandising as needed.
• Assist with Member communications regarding all upcoming golf events, course closures and any other important information.
• Provide professional instruction to members, including camps, clinics.
• Provide weekly reports for all areas listed above to the Director of Golf Professional.

The Head Golf Professional will be required to execute other duties not listed above as assigned by the Director of Golf.
