Position Overview
Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club (ICYCC), a premier private club in Virginia's Northern Neck, is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Head Golf Professional to lead its golf operations and member programming. The ideal candidate is an energetic, visible, and relationship-focused leader with strong operational, communication, and team-development skills.
This position oversees all golf operations, including the golf shop, tournaments and events, merchandising, cart operations, instructional programming, and staff leadership. The Head Golf Professional works closely with the General Manager, Golf Committee, Superintendent, and other department heads to deliver a first-class golf experience for members and guests.

The Club also has a long-term Facilities Master Plan that includes improvements to tennis courts, pool facilities, practice areas, driving range, and the addition of a fitness facility

Experience Required
Candidate Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess:
- Current Head Golf Professional experience or at least 5 years as an accomplished Assistant Professional
- PGA of America Class "A" membership
- College degree or respected PGA/PGM education preferred
- Proven leadership and staff-development experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing tournaments, events, merchandising, and budgets
- A demonstrated ability to build strong member relationships and team culture
- A collaborative and professional leadership style
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have earned a college degree or highly regarded PGM program. Class "A" status and membership in the PGA of America.
Essential Responsibilities
HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL POSITION OVERVIEW
The Head Golf Professional is the leader of the golf operations at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club. He or she is expected to provide day-to-day operation guidance to the department utilizing training and implementing standards. In addition, working with the General Manager and other key department heads including the Golf Course Superintendent, as it relates to planning, scheduling, special events, and implementation of Club functions. Also, the Head Golf Professional works closely with the Golf Committee and various organized club golf groups.
Key Responsibilities
The Head Golf Professional will:
- Lead all golf operations and staff management
- Deliver an exceptional member and guest golf experience
- Develop innovative tournaments, social events, and instructional programs
- Oversee merchandising, budgeting, and operational planning
- Recruit, mentor, and develop golf staff
- Maintain a highly visible and member-focused presence
- Collaborate with club leadership, committees, and other departments
- Coordinate with the Superintendent on course setup and communications
- Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and service excellence
- Expand teaching and player-development programs using modern technologies
The role requires a hands-on leader who values hospitality, organization, and continuous improvement.
