Role Purpose:
We have available roles open in Wilmington, NC, Harrodsburg, KY and Erwin Park- Painted Post, NY.
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Controls Engineer to support the installation, startup, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment at domestic and international sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with equipment, solving technical problems, and supporting projects from installation through turnover to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and system upgrades
- Lead electrical and controls activities for new and modified equipment
- Troubleshoot automation and process equipment on the manufacturing floor
- Work with integrators, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to complete projects
- Review and update electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Support control system setup, including I/O, sequence logic, fail-safe states, and recovery functions
- Modify control software and improve electrical designs for performance, cost, and reliability
- Coordinate materials needed for equipment builds and modifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with control systems for process or automation equipment
- Manufacturing experience with automated equipment
- Knowledge of power systems up to 480 VAC
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with equipment, tools, and test instruments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience with PLC and PC-based control systems
- Familiarity with Beckhoff, B&R, or Allen-Bradley platforms
- PLC programming and SCADA/HMI experience
- Knowledge of PID control and electro-mechanical systems
- Project management experience
- Experience in fiber optic or advanced manufacturing environments

The range for this position is $88,522.00 - $121,718.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
