Description

This is a digital-first position for someone who is a strong writer, follows politics and the news, and wants to grow their communications skills. The staffer will help create engaging digital content, support the campaign’s press operation, and communicate the Senator’s priorities to Delawareans. The role could be filled by someone with entry-level or mid-level experience. The position includes healthcare benefits and is based in Delaware. 

Responsibilities

• Producing original photo and video content that reflects the Senator’s brand across social media channels.
• Drafting written content, such as press releases, advisories, and talking points.
• Monitoring news coverage and anticipating press inquiries.

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in graphic design, photography, and videography.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Sharp eye for social media content.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines, including a flexible schedule that entails nights and weekends.
• Ties to Delaware are not required, but a willingness and desire to learn about the First State is necessary.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
