Position Overview
Fiddlesticks Country Club is seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented, and distinguished Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team. This position represents an exciting opportunity for an emerging PGA Professional to develop their career within a premier private-club environment while contributing meaningfully to the daily golf experience of our membership.
The Assistant Golf Professional will play an important role in delivering the high level of service, hospitality, and professionalism expected at Fiddlesticks. Working closely with the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and entire golf operations team, this individual will assist with all aspects of the golf operation, including member relations, tee sheet management, tournaments and events, golf instruction, golf shop operations, practice facilities, and daily player services.
The successful candidate will understand that exceptional private-club service is about more than simply managing the golf operation. It is about building relationships, anticipating member needs, creating memorable experiences, and contributing positively to the culture of the club.
Key Responsibilities
Member Service & Hospitality
- Provide warm, professional, and personalized service to members and their guests.
- Develop meaningful relationships with members and learn their individual preferences and expectations.
- Create a welcoming experience throughout the golf shop, practice facilities, first tee, and golf course.
- Respond to member questions, concerns, and requests with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Anticipate member needs and consistently look for opportunities to exceed expectations.
Daily Golf Operations
- Assist with the daily management of the golf operation and tee sheet.
- Support the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in maintaining an organized and efficient golf operation.
- Assist with tee-time reservations, player check-in, starting, pace of play, and daily player services.
- Monitor golf-course conditions and communicate relevant information to members and the golf staff.
- Help ensure that all club policies, golf-cart regulations, pace-of-play expectations, and golf-course guidelines are followed consistently and professionally.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and highly presentable golf shop and golf facilities.
Tournament & Event Management
- Assist with planning, organizing, and executing member tournaments, outings, leagues, and special events.
- Support tournament registration via Golf Genius, pairings, scoring, communications, contests, and event setup.
- Help create a polished and memorable experience for participants.
- Work collaboratively with other club departments to ensure successful execution of major events.
Golf Instruction & Player Development
- Provide professional golf instruction consistent with the club's instructional philosophy.
- Assist with member clinics, player-development initiatives, and instructional events.
- Build relationships with members through instruction and player-development programs.
- Utilize appropriate technology and teaching resources to enhance the member experience.
Golf Shop & Merchandising
- Assist with daily golf-shop operations, including merchandising, inventory, sales, and special orders.
- Help maintain an attractive, organized, and appropriately positioned retail environment.
- Assist members with apparel, equipment, accessories, and golf-related purchases.
- Support merchandise receiving, inventory management, vendor relationships, and special merchandise programs as assigned.
Practice Facility & Player Services
- Help maintain a high level of presentation and service throughout the practice facility.
- Assist with range operations, practice-area setup, golf balls, equipment, and member amenities.
- Ensure members receive a consistent and elevated experience from arrival through completion of their round.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an emerging PGA Professional who is looking for more than simply their next job. Previous private-club experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of golf operations, tournament management, instruction, and member service. PGA membership or progress toward PGA membership is highly desirable.

The Assistant Golf Professional should leave a positive impression wherever they go-whether assisting a member in the golf shop, working at the first tee, teaching a lesson, organizing a tournament, supporting a teammate, or simply taking the time to learn a member's name.
