Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and client-focused Account Manager to join our team. The Account Manager serves as a primary day-to-day contact for multiple clients, helping to develop and execute communications strategies that advance client objectives.
This position requires strong media relations, writing, strategic planning, and client management skills, as well as the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and contribute to business development efforts. As a member of a small, high-performing team, the Account Manager will be expected to take ownership of client work, mentor junior colleagues, and help drive successful outcomes for clients and the firm.

Duties & Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee account teams to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional, client-ready work.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
- Contribute to the professional development and training of colleagues.
Client Management
- Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact across multiple accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and contribute strategic counsel and recommendations.
- Lead client meetings and ensure projects advance efficiently toward client objectives.
- Anticipate and address client needs, challenges, and emerging issues.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Lead execution of communications plans and strategic initiatives across multiple clients.
- Track news, policy, and industry developments relevant to client priorities.
- Develop compelling press releases, op-eds, speeches, messaging, and other written materials.
- Propose innovative ideas for thought leadership, media opportunities, partnerships, events, and stakeholder engagement.
Media & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, policy experts, and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client visibility and reputation.
- Monitor media coverage and provide recommendations based on emerging trends and opportunities.
Team Leadership
- Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
- Support account teams in delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
- Contribute to proposal development and new business efforts.
- Cultivate relationships with prospective clients and partners.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong strategic vision, coupled with an acute ability to chart its execution.
- Can work well under pressure and with limited guidance.
- Able to constantly support colleagues throughout the business.
- Ability to draft diverse and persuasive written materials with little input or editing required.
- Strong knowledge of the media and policy issues.
- Ability to successfully multitask and guide a team towards goals.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, crisis communications, media relations or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of PR/communications experience, with 2-3 years of experience in client management/client facing role.

Work Location
The position is full-time and hybrid (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are in-office days; Wednesdays and Fridays are virtual/remote).
