Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital is seeking an Equine Surgery Specialist to join our growing referral hospital on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
The Hospital:
Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital is a privately owned equine referral hospital established with a clear vision: To provide exceptional hospital- based equine veterinary care while fostering collaboration, education and innovation with the community and profession. Currently we provide specialist surgical and medical services, emergency and critical care, lameness and poor performance investigations, imaging, as well as some dentistry, reproductive and general practice services from our new purpose-built facility.
Since opening in February 2026, SCEH has been off to a busy start seeing a wide range of cases from all over Queensland. All services provided are hospital based only. We are proud of what has been achieved in our first few months of operation and are looking forward to expanding our services in the future to include advanced imaging and additional specialist services.
The Team:
The most critical element of a successful hospital is the quality and cohesion of the team. We value each team member as being vital to the overall success of the project. Our vision is to create a work environment which is supportive of all staff members, creating a team which works together to deliver exceptional patient care and customer satisfaction.
Currently our veterinary team consists of our Clinical Director and specialist surgeon Dr Tias Muurlink, Dr Bridget Nottle also a specialist surgeon, Dr Brianna Clarke our medicine specialist and a junior veterinarian making up our team of veterinarians. We are well supported by a team of nurses and technicians, office staff and barn crew.
The Individual:
As we continue to grow, and further realise our vision, we are seeking a versatile and practical Equine Surgeon with a can-do attitude and who wishes to provide the best possible care to address each patient’s unique circumstances. The surgeon we are seeking will be the type of person who makes patient outcomes and client satisfaction their priority. They will work collaboratively, discuss cases openly and support other members of the team. The aim is for everyone to have a voice and every member to contribute to the success of the hospital.
The role can be tailored to suit an early career surgeon, alternatively a senior surgeon with a proven track record in leadership would be considered to move into a role leading the team and hospital.
