GPS Impact is hiring a seasonal, full-time Senior Media Planner and Buyer to join our growing Paid Media Team. This position can be remote (pending location approval) or based in one of our physical office locations including, Des Moines, IA, Kansas City, MO, Philadelphia, PA or Washington, DC. This is a seasonal position and will end on December 31, 2026.

Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing comprehensive digital media plans to help progressive candidates and causes achieve persuasion, and mobilization goals
Executing paid media buys across platforms including but not limited to Meta, Google (Search and YouTube), and programmatic DSPs
Use voter file data (e.g., VAN, TargetSmart, L2) and third-party audience segments to inform targeting strategies
Optimizing campaigns in real-time to maximize impact for key KPIs, including but not limited to reach, engagements, and conversions
Monitor pacing and performance, producing detailed reports/ dashboards and insights both internally and client-facing
Managing and engaging with vendors and trusted partners to plan and deliver on digital media plans
Strategizing and collaborating with internal teams to identify how paid media can add value for GPS clients
Thinking creatively about recommended tactics, looking for patterns in performance, and speaking up when an opportunity presents itself
Providing feedback and guidance on media plans developed by Media Planners and Buyers, mentoring, and helping train new staff
Writing ad copy for paid search campaigns
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of experience buying and planning digital media
Proficiency in key ad platforms: Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, YouTube, and at least one DSP
Strong analytic and reporting skills using platform dashboards and custom reporting tools
Prior experience working in data platforms such as L2, TargetSmart, and VAN
Have strong quantitative skills and experience in Excel and Sheets
Be highly organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Have the ability to work well independently as well as with others
Have a positive attitude, desire to lead, and excellent time management skills
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, both for internal and external communication
Understand the complexities of political communication and have experience building digital media programs to solve problems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior digital planning and buying experience in the political vertical
Genuine interest in political advertising and understanding of digital media landscape
Experience in ASANA or other project management tools
Experience in reporting tools such as TapClick, Datorama, or others

This position is part of the collective bargaining unit (CBU) organized under Teamsters Local 696 and is a seasonal, full-time, exempt position with a base salary of $87,246 annually. GPS Impact offers a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k) and paid time off.
