Description
The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, is seeking a News Producer to assist with the production of political breaking news, news shows, long and short-form video content focused on politics and culture. The producer will write and produce for all Hill platforms, as well as edit, help develop content and serve as backup line producer in the control room or podcast suites as needed.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pitch and assist in daily editorial and in developing new political news content
- Write and produce breaking news in a timely manner for YouTube, Streaming, Broadcast and Digital
- Serve as a backup control room producer for live programming as needed
- Create thumbnails and write headline titles and descriptions for YouTube as needed
- Edit news hits or interview clips as needed
- Assist in writing and producing live special political coverage for Streaming, Broadcast, YouTube and Digital
- Produce shows, podcasts and news hits via the control room, OBS or Steam Yard
- Stay current on YouTube platform developments, trends, and training
- Perform other duties as assigned by news management
Requirements & Skills:
- Must have significant experience producing for broadcast and digital in national newsroom or top market
- Strong news judgement
- Understanding of official Washington and national politics
- Excellent broadcast and digital writing skills
- ENPS or INEWS experience preferred
- Editing and Thumbnail experience preferred
- Quick decision maker and creative thinker
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Must also be capable of interacting positively and productively with other employees all while understanding you are leading by example
- Knowledge and familiarity with newsroom technologies including Adobe Premiere, photoshop, OBS and Stream Yard (preferred but not mandatory)
- Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work different shifts
Salary Range: $63-70K
