Job Summary/Description:
WAFB-TV, the dominant CBS affiliate in Baton Rouge, is expanding its powerhouse sports team with a dynamic Digital Sports Producer. This role is responsible for producing daily live sports streams and specials, developing unique and engaging stories, and appearing on camera as part of live broadcasts across digital platforms. About the Role
From LSU to high school powerhouses and everything in between, Baton Rouge fans crave smart, fresh, and engaging coverage of their favorite teams. As our Digital Sports Producer, you'll help lead the charge in how we tell those stories every day across our digital platforms and live broadcasts.
You will:
- Produce daily live sports streams that inform, entertain, and engage fans across web, mobile, and social platforms
- Create and produce sports specials that showcase the biggest games, rivalries, and personalities in Louisiana sports
- Find and develop unique, compelling story ideas that go beyond the box score - features, explainers, profiles, and behind-the-scenes stories
- Appear on camera as a fill-in host or contributor for digital shows and live hits
- Participate in live broadcasts, working closely with anchors, reporters, and the production team to deliver clean, energetic, and compelling shows
- Collaborate with the sports team to plan coverage, build content franchises, and grow WAFB's sports brand across all platforms

- Strong sports knowledge, especially of local and regional teams and storylines
- Proven ability to produce digital video content (live and/or recorded)
- Comfort and confidence on camera in both live and recorded environments
- Solid writing skills with an eye for catchy headlines and engaging social posts
- A creative mindset - always looking for a new angle, new format, or new way to reach fans
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and game days as sports schedules demand

Qualifications/Requirements:
- College degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- Proven ability to appear comfortably and confidently on camera, including in live settings
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging sports content across platforms
