- Social Media Associate Producer

Founded by Reshma Saujani in 2021 at the height of the pandemic, our community of moms and supporters is 1.5 million strong and committed to fighting for a world where moms are valued and supported in our workplaces, communities, and culture.
Moms First is seeking a Social Media Associate Producer to support the day-to-day planning, production, and community management of our social media presence across Moms First and our founder, Reshma Saujani. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and collaborating closely with the Social Media Manager, this role will play a critical hands-on role in producing high-quality, engaging content — particularly video — and helping steward an inclusive, values-aligned online community.
The ideal candidate is a strong executor with excellent creative instincts, top-notch video production and editing skills, deep fluency in social platforms, and a passion for using storytelling to drive cultural change. You are organized, collaborative, and excited to bring ideas to life — from planning content calendars to producing short-form video to engaging directly with our community.
Candidates must meet the requirement of New York City work policy, which requires 2-3 in-office days per week. This is not a virtual/fully remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Planning & Coordination
- Support content planning for Moms First and Reshma Saujani’s social channels in close consultation with the Social Media Manager
- Help maintain and execute against the social media editorial calendar, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, campaigns, and moments in the cultural conversation
- Track deadlines, assets, and approvals to ensure content is delivered on time and at a high standard
Content Production
- Produce and publish social media content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others, with a particular emphasis on short-form video
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on ideation, scripting, filming, editing, and posting content
- Bring expertise in video production — including filming, editing, captions, and basic motion or graphic treatments — optimized for each platform
- Support rapid-response and timely content during key moments, campaigns, or news cycles
Community Management
- Manage day-to-day community engagement for Moms First and Reshma Saujani, including responding to comments and messages in a timely, thoughtful, and brand-aligned manner
- Help define, implement, and manage against agreed-upon community management and moderation protocols
- Flag emerging themes, risks, or opportunities from community conversations to the Social Media Manager and broader communications team
- Support a healthy, inclusive, and values-aligned online environment that reflects Moms First’s mission
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience producing content for social media accounts for media or news organizations, brands, creators, or mission-driven organizations
- Demonstrated expertise in video production for social platforms, including filming and editing short-form video
- Hands-on experience with social and video tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and how content performs differently across them
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects at once
- Comfortable collaborating closely with a manager and taking direction while also contributing creative ideas
- Clear, thoughtful written communication skills and a strong sense of brand voice
- Enthusiastic team player with a “roll up your sleeves” mindset
