The Senior Manager, Marketing Communications (IMC Lead) owns end-to-end orchestration of communications across the consumer journey for one of Dole's priority categories. Acting as the MarComm lead for the category general manager, this role ensures every consumer touchpoint—paid, owned, earned—works together to deliver a connected brand experience and drive category growth. A key responsibility is leading the creation of an integrated communications program—a unified, cross-channel storytelling framework that ties brand narrative to business objectives
This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our Westlake Village, CA office. (Hybrid is defined as 3 times per week in the office).
Responsibilities
Primary Accountabilities:
- Category Leadership: Serve as the primary marketing communications partner for the category GM; translate category business objectives into integrated communication strategies.
- Lead category-level IMC planning, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and commercial priorities.
- Consumer Journey Orchestration: Map and manage full-funnel communications (awareness → engagement → conversion → loyalty) across all channels.
- Ensure seamless storytelling and consistent brand voice across paid, owned, and earned touchpoints.
- Integrated Strategy & Planning: Build annual IMC plans and campaign briefs that connect consumer insight, brand positioning, and category growth objectives.
- Translate business goals into channel-specific strategies (video/CTV, social, influencer, PR, retail media, eComm).
- Campaign Development & Creative Orchestration: Lead briefing, concepting, and creative development with integrated agency partners.
- Partner with Insights to validate direction and optimize message frameworks; run pre-flight testing where appropriate.
- Content & Editorial: Own the category content calendar, social editorial, influencer activations, and amplification plans. Partnering with the social strategy & content lead.
- Ensure brand governance and asset re-use across regions and channels.
- Channel & Media Activation: Partner with Performance Media and Retail Media on audience strategy, flighting, and investment mix.
- Deliver connected journeys from awareness to conversion (including DTC/eComm and retailer ecosystems).
- Earned & Corporate Communications: Collaborate with Corporate Communications/PR on brand storytelling, product news, and corporate purpose.
- Align earned and paid narratives for maximum impact.
- Measurement & Optimization: Define campaign KPIs, learning agendas, and post-mortems.
- Lead in-market optimization cadences with media and creative partners; connect brand and demand metrics to business outcomes.
- Leadership & Ways of Working: Act as IMC Lead in RACI (Accountable for orchestration; Responsible for IMC planning & briefs; Consulted on channel execution; Informed for cross-functional teams).
- Manage a small team (e.g., 23 ICs across content/social and IMC project management) and steward agency relationships
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:
- 7+ years in marketing communications/IMC, with CPG or consumer brand experience preferred
- Strong brief writing, creative development, and content/editorial chops; adept at social/influencer and retail media/Ecomm collaboration
- Fluency in measurement (brand health, funnel metrics, MMM/MTA familiarity, retail media dashboards)
- Exceptional storytelling and stakeholder leadership; proven ability to align cross-functional teams and agencies

Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications or related is required
- MBA is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.
Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 10-15% for shoots, events, and category leadership meetings

FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA:
Hiring Pay Scale: $140,000 to $165,000

The pay rate offered will consider a wide range of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, accomplishments, and location. Pay scales are subject to review on a regular basis and will be updated as appropriate.
