JOB DESCRIPTION

WHP/CBS21 is looking for a Senior Director

Responsibilities:

• Managing news production specifically managing directors/editors/floor crew
• Establishing production goals and setting standards for 28+ hours of local news weekly
• Review/Direct daily newscasts to ensure quality control, brand compliance, and subsequently provide feedback to all news staff
• Recruiting, hiring for production staff effectively
• Familiar with iNews computer system, AVID Newscutter system and new production technology to help achieve the best quality
• Collaborate with other managers on news strategies and effectively reach said goals

Requirements:

• Must have solid directing skills to provide clear/confident call of news programming.
• Will bring strong fiscal experience for both operational and capital expenditures
• Must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple hours of daily newscasts and must have a proven track record of success in building a winning news organization
• Journalism degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience in news management with noted leadership skills is required
