Colville, WA | Dominion Meadows Golf Club opened in 1948 as a nine-hole course and expanded in 2001 to an eighteen-hole course. The course is located in Colville, WA which is situated in the scenic mountains of Northeast Washington. In 2022 the course went through a multimillion-dollar renovation which included the reimagining of sixteen holes, addition of 40+ bunkers, reworking of the irrigation system and purchase of all new maintenance equipment. The result is the creation of a truly unique golf experience suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to low handicapper, while maintaining our exceptional customer service and fast pace of play. The Position | Head Professional (Under the GM/Dir of Golf Operations). DMGC is operated and managed by the DMGC Board of Directors and overall facility operations are managed by the GM/DOGO on their behalf. The Head Professional (HP) role is envisioned to be the "face of the facility" to the customers, passholders and similar at the course and in the area and will be tasked with leading the golf operation under the direction of the GM/DOGO.

Experience Required

• Active Class A PGA Member or significant demonstrable progress in the  PGAs Associate Program; must be in good standing per PGA  Membership department 
• 2+ years as PGA Professional (preferred)

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:
Golf Operations Management

• Oversee the reservation system, starting, monitoring, and pace of play.
• Track and verify all Pass Holders and guests, green fees, golf cars, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting and recordkeeping.
• Oversee golf cart fleet, with focus on the preparation, presentation and preservation of the carts as a club asset.
• Develop and manage an innovative tournament program, group outings, and leagues that service all golfers.
• Oversee the operation and consistent presentation of the practice facility.
• Provide professional club fitting services.
• Ensure the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf carts and rental equipment.
• Play golf with a variety of Pass Holders and/or guests as time permits.
• Administer the Rules of Golf and educate staff. Promote and provide Rules of Golf clinics to all golfers and the public.
• Develop, maintain, update, and utilize customer database.

Retail Management

• Oversee the retail merchandise concession in the Golf Shop.
• Maintain a profitable golf merchandising operation.
• Oversee development of buying plans and all golf related purchasing.
• Supervise physical inventories. Present a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories within established budget guidelines.
• Assist in the development of necessary systems utilizing Point of Sale to safeguard inventories and cash.
• Establish accurate recordkeeping policies and procedures.
• Supervise and train all golf shop staff to maximize sales opportunities.
• Ensure the customer database includes and tracks important dates, spending, sizes, preferences.
• Maintain an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the Golf Shop.
• Conduct accurate and timely inventory tallies.

Player Development

• Develop, provide, and oversee an enhanced golf instruction program offering individual and group clinics for all levels.
• Develop and oversee player development programs.
• Utilize PGA of America player development tools, resources, and materials.
• Focus on programs for juniors, women, seniors, and families.
• Work with General Manager to develop a Player Development marketing plan.

Golf Administration

• Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise all golf department staff and maintain accurate payroll records.
• Ensure evaluations and annual reviews are completed and recorded for all applicable staff.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled by management and schedule staff meetings with golf operations personnel.
• Update and maintain golf shop job descriptions, policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to and posted in the proper areas.
• Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA requirements.
• Assist in the publications of newsletters, informational, and promotional materials.
• Oversee the administration of the golf handicap program.
• Work closely with and provide guidance and consultation with all golf committees.
• Attend applicable DMAA Governing Board and DMAA committee meetings when requested.
• Adhere to, enforce, and implement policies and procedures of the facility.
• Setup regular written communication with General Manager to include facility, programming, staff, and customer updates.

Business and Financial

• Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the Golf Shop operations and golf services.
• Ensure all Golf Shop financial goals and objectives are achieved.
• Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting. Review all golf operations revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Ensure systems controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resources.
• Other Facility/Departmental Responsibilities
• Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament set up.
• Assist the General Manager in the promotion of new member leads and provide a supporting role in assisting with prospective members and orientation of new members.
• Coordinate plans with the Elks Club Food and Beverage Manager for food and beverage needs while the course is open.

• Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active  classification. 
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility  operations and tournament operations. 
• Fundamental knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.

• Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills. 
• Self-motivated with desire to promote and market what the golf  course? Golf in general?

• Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active  classification. 
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility  operations and tournament operations. 
• Fundamental knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
• Utilize the resources of PGA player development programs such as Get  Golf Ready, PGA Junior League and other such programs. 
• Experienced computer user including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, and database. 
• Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the  community. 
• Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep  abreast of marketing and business trends. 
• Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations.
• Utilize the resources of PGA player development programs such as Get Golf Ready, PGA Sports Academy, Tee it Forward and other such programs.
• Experienced computer user including Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, and database. 
• Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the  community. 
• Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep  abreast of marketing and business trends. 
• Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching  innovations.
• Maintain PGA of America membership or active status as an Associate making progress towards Class A membership.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary range of $55,000-$75,000 based on experience and qualifications
• 90% of Golf lesson income projected range ($500-$5,000) to be determined based on HPs ability to engage customers, passholders and similar in lessons, player development programs and clinics and similar.
• Incentives/commissions (range TBD) based on performance in the following areas (negotiable):
• Merchandise bonus/commission
• Performance bonus

Position is from February 1 to November 30. DMGC season typically runs from March 15 - October 31.
