Founded in 1891, The Country Club of Indianapolis holds the distinction of being the first private country club in Indianapolis and one of the earliest in the nation. Position Overview

As an Assistant Golf Professional, you will support all facets of the Club's golf operations while delivering first-class service to our membership. This year-round position offers a competitive base salary with additional earnings through lessons, junior programs, and a Christmas bonus, along with opportunities for professional growth and advancement. Members of the Professional Staff are expected to consistently uphold the highest standards of appearance, attitude, member and guest service, professional knowledge, and overall conduct each day.

Experience Required

Required

• PGA of America Member or Apprentice in good standing or strong intent to pursue PGA membership.
• Passion for exceptional customer service and team-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• 1-3 years' experience in golf operations, private club environment, or equivalent golf-related role.
• Experience in instruction, junior golf programming, and event coordination.
• Familiarity with Golf Genius and Jonas

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Operations & Member Experience

• Support daily golf operations including player services, tee sheet oversight, and pace of play management.
• Serve as a visible, energetic ambassador of the Club, building strong relationships with members and guests.
• Assist and lead club tournaments, leagues, member events, and special golf programs.

Instruction, Player Development & Junior Golf

• Provide high quality instruction through individual lessons, clinics, and PGA Jr. League programs.
• Take an active role in administering and growing the Junior Golf program - a key component of our member-focused offerings.

Team Leadership & Administrative

• Support hiring, training, and supervision of outside services and shop staff.
• Utilize tournament and golf operations software (Golf Genius and Jonas) to manage events and member communications.

Merchandising & Retail

• Assist with golf shop operations including POS, inventory control, replenishment, merchandising, and member special orders.
• Support club fitting services and minor equipment repair.
