POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Enrollment Marketing Specialist advances Case Western Reserve University's mission by effectively promoting its breadth of graduate and professional programs. This individual plays a key role in developing and executing multichannel marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and enrollment. The specialist will be responsible for planning, writing, designing, testing, and deploying compelling, visually appealing, user-friendly, and brand-aligned email campaigns. These campaigns will target prospective graduate and professional students throughout the enrollment funnel. Beyond email, the Enrollment Marketing Specialist will collaborate closely with colleagues across enrollment management, academic units, and the central communications office to contribute to integrated marketing strategies. This may include contributing to digital advertising content, analyzing data to make informed decisions, event promotion materials and CRM-based outreach.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team to plan and create email content. Work directly with graduate and professional recruitment teams across the university to understand their audiences and needs. Then, using HTML, liquid markup and querying, build email and SMS communications in university¿s CRM (Slate) that help achieve goals. Using the CRM, build and send emails for other departments/teams to help them reach their goals of communicating both internally and externally. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and contribute to integrated marketing strategies. This includes developing content and reports for digital advertising, event promotions, and CRM-based outreach communications. (60%)
Coordinate email schedules for graduate/professional recruitment emails to send at optimal timing based on data, as well as ensuring audience recipient lists do not overlap. Responsible for use of project-management software to keep email projects on track. (10%)
Present edited copy and draft designs to clients and articulate clear rationale for editing and design choices and how they support functionality, usability and email accessibility standards. Adjust and adapt emails to respond to data provided through analytics, user feedback and other information regarding user experiences. (10%)
Assist in creating and administering ongoing campaigns for subject line testing, format testing and message testing. Work with the data in Slate to measure, understand and ensure inbox placement. Develop and communicate best practices documentation for internal distribution and training. Manage photo library in Slate. (10%)
Assist the graduate enrollment marketing team in creating/revising email drip campaigns to support the various recruitment efforts including but not limited to prospecting, inquiry to submit, application status, and after admission. (10%)

CONTACTS
Department: Contact with manager, vice president, directors, and all department staff to maintain workflow.
University: Contact with faculty and staff in colleges and management centers to maintain workflow
External: Contact with alumni and outside vendors and consultants to exchange information.
Students: Some contact with students to exchange information.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 2 to 4 years of email marketing and email operations experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business, or related field.
REQUIRED SKILLS

Familiarity with project management systems and data integration.

Familiarity with HTML and CSS coding for email.
Experience using Slate and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud to create and send emails.

Ability to write precise, well-organized emails, letters and proposals using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
Ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient, productive manner and also anticipate contingencies.
Knowledge of Associated Press style.
Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest.
Ability to meet consistent attendance.

Willingness to learn and work with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office environment. Hybrid work schedule that requires working from campus three days a week once introductory probation period complete. Will perform repetitive motion using computer mouse and keyboard. On rare, emergency situations, evening or weekend hours required.
