Position Description
The Development Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position based in our Dallas office, with hybrid work options available.
This role supports Philanthropy Southwest’s fundraising and development efforts, including:
Maintaining and leveraging fundraising and donor databases
Conducting grant research and supporting proposal development and reporting
Supporting the Revenue Development Committee
Coordinating and tracking the fundraising process
Ensuring timely fulfillment and acknowledgment of all partner, member, and contributor gifts
Coordinating communications with partners, members, and supporters
Collaborating closely with PSW Team to ensure alignment between fundraising, financial tracking, and outreach activities
Key Areas of Responsibility
Donor Relations & Database Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and member records in the PSW CRM.
Process and acknowledge gifts, dues, and pledges in a timely manner.
Generate reports and lists to support fundraising and relationship-building efforts.
Annual Fundraising Campaigns
Support the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events.
Help manage timelines, budgets, logistics, and follow-up for development activities.
Grants & Proposal Support
Assist with identifying and researching prospective funders.
Support the drafting, compilation, and submission of grant applications and other funding proposals.
Track grant requirements and deadlines and support the preparation of reports and fulfillment obligations.
Communications
Coordinate with members, partners, and sponsors to support fundraising efforts and relationship management.
Help manage the fundraising pipeline and team/committee meetings, including agendas, notes, and follow-up.
Draft and edit development-related communications, including campaign messages, acknowledgments, and fulfillment updates.
Administrative Support
Schedule and coordinate meetings for the development function and Revenue Development Committee.
Maintain organized digital and physical files related to development activities.
Track key reporting and stewardship timelines.
Support internal PSW communication plan and information sharing across departments to ensure consistent messaging to PSW donors.
Requirements
Qualifications
Organizational skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage donors, members, and partners professionally.
Technical skills: Proficiency with donor databases/CRMs, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software tools.
Experience: Prior experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or communications is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (e.g., communications, English, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field).
Customer service orientation: Strong commitment to providing a high-quality, positive experience for donors, members, and partners.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, board members, volunteers, and external stakeholders.

This role may require 25% travel in the PSW region and locally for events, meetings and conferences.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and living in the North Texas area.
Comprehensive benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, 10% base pay IRA contribution, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. Hybrid work schedule is available - 4/1 or 3/2 - days in office, days remote.
