Ozarks First in Springfield, Missouri, is hiring a Producer for our 2-hour morning newscast, Daybreak. We are looking for someone who can create compelling, relevant, and interactive news segments that showcase our personalities. The Morning Producer must be a communicator and a collaborator. You must be someone who can see the big picture, as well as someone with an eye for details.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Select and prioritize stories that provide our viewers with a mix of news, talkers, and sports relevant to the Ozarks.
• Work with managers to execute the morning strategy that includes a mix of content from broadcast (traditional), website (fresh/visual), social media (interactive), and CTV (streaming app).
• Write concise and conversational stories. Pace and energy are critical.
• Produce error-free work. Must be a stickler for details.
• Leads during severe weather and breaking news coverage.
• Communicate and collaborate professionally and respectfully with your coworkers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• College degree in journalism or a related field, and experience with broadcast and digital storytelling.
• Must have a desire to win, a positive attitude, and the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback.
• Ability to research and employ critical thinking skills to dig beyond the headline and verify incoming emails and news tips.
• Strong time management skills are essential. Work with urgency and accuracy.
• Must maintain composure, especially during breaking news or deadline pressure.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
