- Communications and Content Coordinator
Description
Overview: The College Football Playoff is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, versatile and digital savvy individual to play an integral role within the CFP’s Brand Marketing and Communications team. The CFP’s Communications and Content Coordinator is a newly created role that will be responsible for working across all communications and content functions, including, but not limited to, assisting with social media content creation, strategy and dissemination, website and app content production and management, graphic design project management, media and public relations operations, and credentialing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the year-round strategy development and day-to-day management for all CFP Owned Media Channels. This includes, but is not limited to, all current and future CFP official social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Threads, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube, X), the collegefootballplayoff.com website and the CFP’s official app.
- Lead the creation of social media content throughout the calendar year to promote the CFP and its public events, serving fans and followers with culturally relevant, creative and engaging content.
- Optimize the collegefootballplayoff.com website and app, serving fans with compelling editorial content, promoting the CFP brand, supporting organization-wide initiatives and events and providing a best-in-class user experience.
- Provide consistent internal reporting to Brand Marketing and Communications team on social media, website and app engagement that details relevant performance metrics and insights.
- Work directly with the CFP’s graphic designers on the fulfillment of CFP staff creative needs, including, but not limited to, web, social media, emails, invitations, logos, brochures, postcards, flyers, signage, advertisements, infographics and other print collateral and special projects as assigned.
- Engage with communications and social media groups on the campuses of participating schools and at CFP bowls to help execute postseason games according to CFP policies and standards.
- Copywriting, editing and support with the production of all collateral, including game program, media guides and record books
- Assist in the drafting, editing and distribution of news releases.
- Assist in the planning and execution of media operations at all CFP games on campus, at bowl games and the national championship game (NCG).
- Support all aspects of CFP PR outreach and strategy, including pitch development, media outreach, interview coordination, tracking and reporting.
- Support all aspects of CFP marketing and promotion of CFP’s public events, working collaboratively with the CFP Public Events and Sponsorship team on identifying goals, promotional needs and on-site execution to exceed fan and guest expectations.
- Create media coverage reports as assigned.
- Manage the CFP media credentialing system for the NCG.
- Oversee operations, credentialing, event management, budget and billing at the media hotel during the NCG.
- Manage the planning and execution of in-person and virtual news conferences, media webinars and conference calls.
- Manage relationships with media and broadcast partners, as well as other stakeholders, as it relates to communications and media operations.
- Source photos and manage photo files for CFP archives.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with strong strategic writing and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience in relevant field.
- Experience creating content for/running social media accounts for a sports and entertainment brand preferred.
- Knowledge and curiosity of industry/social media trends that will inform strategy, reach new audiences and drive cultural relevance of the CFP brand.
- While not essential, video production/editing capabilities are a plus.
- Ability to manage, prioritize and bring multiple projections to completion required
- Must be able to main confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters
- Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing college sports environment
- Flexibility to work long hours including evenings and weekends
