Overview

Cory Booker for Senate is seeking a Communications Advisor to join a fast-paced, high-impact campaign operation. This role will work directly with the Communications Director to help shape and execute the campaign’s messaging strategy across earned media, rapid response, digital amplification, and surrogate engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and team player who thrives under deadline pressure and understands how to build compelling political narratives. This is a senior level position.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Communications Director to develop and execute daily and long-term communications strategies.
• Draft and edit press materials, including press releases, talking points, op-eds, statements, and briefing memos.
• Assist with media outreach and relationship-building with local, state, and national reporters.
• Support rapid response efforts by monitoring news cycles, identifying opportunities and risks, and helping craft timely responses.
• Prepare the candidate with messaging guidance, prep materials, and background research.
• Coordinate messaging across departments to ensure consistency between communications, digital, policy, and field teams.
• Help manage surrogate communications, including briefing materials and message discipline.
• Track media coverage and produce daily or weekly media reports as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in political communications, campaigns, government, or related advocacy work.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
• Strong understanding of the political and media landscape.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to travel and work long, irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
