OverviewSand Hollow Resort is a premier destination to Escape. Play. Discover. Relax. One of Southern Utah's top-ranked golf destinations, our golf course is ranked in the top 50 out of the 100 top resort golf courses. The resort encompasses over 180 units ranging from one (1) to six (6) bedrooms for guests to relax in during their stay. Dine in our picturesque restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gorgeous Southern Utah mountain ranges. End your evening with a concert underneath the stars in our gorgeous Rock Bowl.
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized 1st Assistant Golf Professional to join our leadership team within golf operations. This role will work directly with the Head Golf Professional to oversee tee-sheet planning and optimization-including building seasonal tee sheets, adjusting dynamic pricing, and managing course access across all play categories.
The 1st Assistant Golf Professional will also serve as the primary point of contact for group bookings, tournaments, and 3rd-party booking channels, ensuring accuracy, communication, and exceptional service at every step. The ideal candidate will be a PGA Member or Associate with strong operational instincts, proven booking/tee-sheet expertise, and a passion for elevating the guest experience at a high-volume resort facility.
Experience Required
- PGA Member or Associate (preferred), or actively working toward PGA certification.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in golf operations, ideally at a resort or high-volume facility.
- Strong understanding of tee-sheet management, dynamic pricing, and golf booking software.
- Experience with group sales, 3rd-party booking channels, or tournament coordination strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency with POS systems, golf software platforms, and Google/Microsoft Office tools.
- Passion for the game of golf and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
Essential Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Tee Sheet & Revenue Management
- Collaborate directly with the Head Golf Professional to build, update, and maintain seasonal and daily tee sheets.
- Implement dynamic pricing strategies to maximize course utilization and revenue based on demand, seasonality, and booking trends.
- Monitor real-time tee sheet activity and adjust gaps, holds, group blocks, and pace-of-play controls as needed.
- Analyze booking patterns and communicate insights to the Head Golf Professional and the Director of Golf.
Group Bookings & 3rd-Party Reservations
- Serve as the primary contact for all group bookings, including corporate outings, private events, and large parties.
- Manage 3rd-party booking partnerships (wholesalers, travel groups, etc.) and ensure contract accuracy, pricing alignment, and proper inventory distribution.
- Coordinate all group logistics: contracts, communications, billing, special requests, and event-day execution.
- Maintain updated group and OTA calendars to prevent conflicts and ensure seamless scheduling.
Guest Services & Golf Shop Operations
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests, members, groups, and partners-ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
- Lead golf shop operations during assigned shifts, including merchandising, sales, and inventory management.
- Support instruction programs, clinics, and player development initiatives as needed.
- Uphold course policies and act as a resort ambassador across all guest interactions.
Leadership & Operational Support
- Assist with daily operational oversight, ensuring communication and smooth coordination between Player Services, Starters, On Course Attendants, and the Golf Shop.
- Provide mentorship for the 2nd Assistant and other staff members.
- Help maintain a professional, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
