Ultimate Staffing is looking for a dynamic and passionate VA (Veterans) Admissions Recruiter to join our client's team at their University's new in-residence site in San Jose, CA. If you have a knack for building relationships, a background in higher education recruitment, a connection to the military and a desire to contribute to student success, this role is perfect for you!
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000
Responsibilities:
- Lead recruitment and support efforts for veterans, active military personnel, and their families through admissions and academic transitions.
- Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies for military communities.
- Attend military job fairs and community events, building partnerships with military bases and veteran organizations.
- Deliver presentations on VA-supported educational programs and guide applicants through admissions, military transcript submissions, and VA benefits.
- Support students transitioning from military to civilian academic life, maintaining strong relationships within veteran communities.
- Maintain compliance with equal opportunity and non-discrimination policies, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for all students and staff.
- Use CRM tools like Campus Nexus and Hubspot to manage student inquiries and communications.
- Provide detailed guidance on financial aid, scholarships, and VA benefits.
- Ensure effective management of VA educational benefits and assist with admissions-related processes.
- Handle peak recruitment seasons with flexible hours, including travel and event participation.
- Promote an inclusive environment, adhering to equal opportunity and non-discrimination policies.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- A bachelor's degree in fields such as Education, Business, Communications, Human Resources, or Public Administration.
- 1-3 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or counseling, preferably in higher education or related to military services.
- Familiarity with or experience in managing VA educational benefits, ensuring veterans can access the financial resources they need.
- Certifications in Veterans Benefits Counseling or similar credentials.
- Military experience, which would offer a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by veterans transitioning to academic life.
- A proven track record of successful recruitment campaigns targeting veterans, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage this community and bring them into academic programs.
