OverviewCasper Country Club is a private country club and golf facility located at the base of Casper Mountain in Casper, Wyoming. Experience Required
The ideal candidate will possess progressive golf operations experience, strong instructional capability, and the ability to contribute to a professional, service-focused environment.
Professional Experience
- 2-4+ years of experience in golf operations.
- Demonstrated involvement in daily golf shop operations, tee sheet management, and customer service
- Experience providing private and group instruction to players of varying skill levels
- Involvement in junior programs, clinics, leagues, or player development initiatives
- Familiarity with basic teaching technology (launch monitors, video analysis, fitting tools)
- Ability to build and maintain a small to moderate lesson clientele
- Experience assisting with:
- Club tournaments
- Outings and leagues
- Member events
- Working knowledge of tournament software (e.g., Golf Genius, ForeTees, or similar systems)
- Basic understanding of the Rules of Golf and handicap procedures
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising displays, and inventory management
- Strong customer service and upselling skills
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and tee sheet software
- Ability to supervise outside services staff or shop staff when needed
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Dependable, team-oriented mindset with professional appearance and demeanor
- PGA Associate or actively pursuing PGA Membership preferred
Essential Responsibilities
The Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in daily golf operations, instruction, tournament execution, and member/guest engagement while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and service.
Golf Operations & Daily Management
- Oversee and execute daily golf shop operations, including tee sheet management, POS transactions, and opening/closing procedures
- Provide exceptional service to members and guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional golf experience
- Coordinate effectively with outside services, starters, rangers, and maintenance staff to ensure seamless daily operations
- Monitor pace of play and course flow to maintain operational efficiency
- Provide private and group golf instruction to players of all skill levels
- Assist in the development and execution of junior programs, clinics, leagues, and player development initiatives
- Utilize teaching technology (launch monitors, video analysis, club fitting tools) to enhance instructional quality
- Actively promote and grow lesson programming to support overall golf revenue goals
- Plan, organize, and execute club tournaments, leagues, and outside outings
- Manage tournament software setup, scoring, results, and communication
- Prepare rules sheets, scorecards, pairings, and prize distribution
- Ensure compliance with USGA Rules of Golf and handicap procedures
- Assist with merchandising, inventory control, and vendor relations
- Maintain professional, attractive retail displays and ensure accurate stock levels
- Support retail sales goals through proactive engagement and product knowledge
- Supervise and train golf shop and outside service staff as assigned
- Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and positive attitude
- Assist in interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring seasonal or entry-level staff
- Support the Head Golf Professional in implementing departmental standards and policies
- Build strong relationships with members and guests
- Address and resolve service concerns promptly and professionally
- Actively participate in club events to enhance member experience and engagement
- Assist in monitoring daily revenues, lesson income, and tournament budgets
- Support marketing initiatives, email communications, and promotional efforts
- Maintain accurate records and reporting as required
